looking at a64 cpus - but unsure of what to get?

i am looking into a a64 system but am very new to building my own computer- my friend who has built a few will help me build it but i do want to elarn from my first time. I was thining of geting the athlon 64 3000+ but been reading about the mobiles and how they overclock? should i not go into the trouble of overclocking a mobile ? and just try on the a64 non mobile?

Being new to the DIY scene I suggest the 3000+. They seem to average 2.4ghz on the right board so they aren't bad overclockers. You also won't have to worry about making contact with the core or crushing it that way either.
