What laptops are available that spec around 4k+ 3dmark03 and cost less than 2000? Im not sure which video cards for laptops hit around that mark, also dependent on cpu.

thanks!

PS I noticed some alienware laptops hits 7k+, for my gaming needs 4k+ would be sufficient.

Hrm that sounds really good, who? 😛

You'll get almost 10k in 3dmark 03 with a Dell Inspiron 9300 with the 6800 Go video card.
That's overclocked.....

Battery life is not too bad, and they're relativily light for their 17" size. Big footprint tho, again because of the screen size.

I dont mind it being large... 10k ?! that seems insanely high

Ive been looking at the XPS gen 2 and the 9300's and they seem to config somewhat simlarly, but the xps is a lot more (no 750 off coupon)_

The 74xx Gateways, at least the one on the market right now (7426) is not a good budget gaming laptop.

While it is pretty good at games (40fps HL2 video stress test), it's too expensive to be a budget gaming laptop and it can never compete with Dell 9300s in the gaming arena (which can sell for a similar price if sparsely configured).

What the 7426 is, however, is powerful non-gaming laptop. To configure a 9300 to match in non-gaming performance would cost you over 2000 bucks, even with a decent coupon, while the Gateway is 1400-1550 bucks, depending on when you buy it.
