Looking a nice and SMALL digital camera

I'm looking for a digital camera to replace my BIG Kodak digital camera. I know jack shiznit about digital cameras... preferrably something with good quality and by a reputable company, it would be a big + if it has lots of memory... but the keyword here is SMALL (portable!). my current Kodak camera is too damn bulky for me to bring it to parties, or even outside at all.

any suggestions are welcome! Thanks a bunch!

EDIT: I don't have much money to spend... the max I will spend is only about $200...

I was in the same boat, have a digital canon with a bunch of lenses, but missed a lot of good pix because I don't want to lug it around. Got a Sony DSC-W1. I went to Comp USA because they had the most cameras to try, and I found that this had the fastest lag time, almost instant compared to the other point and shoots. If your used to using your slr then that can be a real big issue

I highly recommend the Canon Digital Elph line of cameras.... you'll find numerous threads here regarding them if you search. I have the S500 which is 5 megapixel and out of your price range (~$400), but the SD200 is essentially the same camera in 3.2 megapixel and close in price. With 3.2 mp you'll be able to take ultra high resolution 4x6 photos.

The Canon Axx series is nice, but I find it much more bulky. I took the S500 to Hawaii, and I did a lot of hiking. Perfect size. Quality product... worth the extra $50 over your price guide. Just my 2 cents...

I suggest the Canon S500 or the S410 .

The SD series is also pretty nice, but i think the SD series uses the SD memory cards, which are not as common as the CF cards (cheaper too).

My choice to go with the S500 was because of the fact that i had other digicams that used CF cards so i could just swap them anytime.
