I'm lookin for a cheap reliable video card. Any recommendations.
I saw a deal for a voodoo3 a while ago, is that a good card?
I don't need the latest and greatest thing, just like a 16 or 32mb card for about 20-30 bucks...

for that kind of cash you may want my Nvidia TNT2 64 w/32mb ram. I havn't benchmarked it but it runs DFLW at ?1200x1024x32? quite well(geez, I just cannot get these resolutions down)...okay..okay, if there's lots of explosions and the like the frame rate will drop. Into RTCW? this card will run great..I even host with no problems on a PIII812 (that's oc'd of course)

Myself I'm looking at the difference between a GF2MX200/400 vs. GF4MX420 as compared to the TNT2. Since the GF2 and GF4 differ by $20 or so. Why a GF4MX420, for the PCI compatability of course.

Also I've seen that Gainward makes a GF3TI200, which I REALLY want...BUT I cannot find one. Anyone Know where to source one? Or better yet, where to source any GF3 PCI card.

Ive checked ebay, pricewatch, newegg, egghead, yahoo stores, amazon, google, and I'm all out of ideas. I want to run GR (Ghost Recon, on HIGH-ALL, everything) :(

Shoot help me find a Geforce3TI200 PCI version only- and I'll drop the the TNT2 in a box for around $10 +shipping whatever that is...

BTW what do you currently have for a vid card?

One last thing...If I'm not mistake, Voodoo is defunct for a reason, poor performance even for <$30.00

The voodoo3 rocked in its day. Of course its a poor performer now. Its old and hasn't had official driver support for a long time. I'd still get some form of the tnt2 if I wanted an older video card right now. They can be found for less dinero.

If you want a cheap vid card, look at one of the Radeons with DDr now. They can be had for under $40, and then of course there's the GF2 GTS-V which can be had for under $50 now and it's a great deal.
