I'm looking to spend around $1000

Already have the ram, 512mb 2100 Crucial, and no need for a monitor. Been looking at a A7M266 mobo, 2 IBM Deskstar 20GB, 1.2 T-Bird, MSIstarforce GeForce2 Pro 64mb, Hercules xp game theater sound, 16x Plextor Burner. I already have a network and a DVDrom gonna reuse. Any suggestions?? From where I'm looking (newegg.com and monarch.com) total so far is about $1165. Any diff components I should consider?

I personaly Hate Newegg. Every time I try to order somthing they refuse my checkcard and since they sell only online you cant fix your order on the phone. As far as company goes, I love Mwave, ordered many systems from them and have not had one problem.

If you want to know about the A7A266 Read about my probelem im having with it in my thread. Other than that anoyance, its a great mobo.

You can save probably $50+ going with the Epox 8K7A which is the same chipset used as the A7M266 with better overclocking features if you plan to do that. Also, if you're not planning on overclocking, the 1.33 T-Birds don't cost much more than the 1.2 these days. (MWave gives 1 year warranty on their CPU's so you might want to look at them a bit.)

I had no problem using my Visa checkcard with newegg, but I didn't have any problems with my order, so I can't comment there. Everything did seem to ship quickly and I was building within a week of placing the order. You have selected some good parts there and a little on the pricey side. Mobo - $163, Hard Drive - 2X$84, Retail CPU - $119, Video - $142, Sound - $132, and Retail Burner - $177 = Total - $901 plus s/h at Newegg. Not all items in stock currently, but their stock is always in and out throughout the day. The shipping should be somwhere around $50-$75, so less than $1000 total. You could consider a cheaper mobo - Epox EP-8K7A - $120 or one 40 Gb hard drive - $107 or a cheaper burner, Lite-on - $106. Just some thoughts...
