i was lookin at this monitor but i just need to know from the experts. is that a good price for that monitor and ive seen many dell monitors with ultrasharp in the name but does that make any difference? i have also been looking at the specs and it looks like the refresh rates suck, none that go to 100hz, is that as high itll go even if i try to set it for higher? o and would this monitor be any good for gaming?

I own 2 of em, love em, play everything on em (Yes, it ghosts a little but not horribly). That monitor goes from 500 to 350 on dells website on a daily basis! A lot of people love it some hate it, but it has always gotten great reviews. The ghosting issues (on all LCD) is a very subjective. Some people say they cant see any some people say its distrating. I live with it as it is not so annoying to me.

what about the refresh rates? i read that it only goes up to 75hz, is that true cuz getting 100hz is important to me or does it not matter?

Yep, 75. But refrsh rates do not matter nearly as much on an LCD than it does on a CRT. Its really a non-issue.

what about gaming, i got an old gateway that i got from a friend on my other pc and i gotta say it sux to play games on, have LCDs improved in that field?

In the last 2 years LCDs have greately improved and are constantly getting better. Alot of new LCD comparisions are being compared to the Dell 1905Fp and the Dell still comes out on top in most respects. I myself have done many comparion testing with the 1905fp and many newer Samsung models and even the Apple Cinema displays (we are heavy mac editors here) and I would still choose the 1905fp over all. I would only choose it over the apple cinema display for the cost factor tho. 🙂
