Haven't broken them in yet. First impressions are that this is simply the best "audio" device I've ever listened to. Never before did I think the music I listened to sounded so good. It really does make a difference.

Running it through a Denon A/V receiver but will get an amp and dac later on as well as upgraded cables.

For now, I just want to be immersed in this aural-universe! 😎

Looks like Sennheiser HD800's to me. I've never tried them but I would like to. Congrats on the new set of cans, if you get sick of them then you can give them to me. 😉

And what kind of cables you going for? The kind that make them sound better or the the kind that make the more usable due to being a proper length and look good.

I'm going for quality over looks. Will first use the stock cable for a while. I want to be able to "tell" the difference if I'm going to spend $300+ for a cable. LOL...

Those other headphones are taking away from the view and cramping your new ones, potentially affecting the sound. I hate to see that happen to an audio lover, so you can send me the old ones just to be on the safe side.

i got something much cooler on the way that's supposed to be delivered today, but with hurricane sandy i'm not so sure it is going to be delivered.

I really like my Audio Technica ATHM50 which are 1/10th the cost. Would like to get a side by side comparison to see how what money buys you.

severe case of diminishing returns.

while some sound preference will come into play, it should be easy to tell that the hd800 is much superior to a m50.

top of the line headphones are ridiculously priced, personally I would pay 700-800 tops for a hd800. I bought a pair off ebay that was listed for $700 buy it now, but then the seller made up some BS story of getting his car broken into and the headphones stolen and refunded me, then two months later he relists and sells it for $800. heh wth.
