Wonder if he's not going to take the plea aggrement and hold out for a pardon from the Orange One. Just more fuckery!

At this point I doubt the government cares if he backs out of his plea deal as it got the information it wanted and would be more than happy to indict him on a whole host of other charges they didn't indict on due to his cooperation.

As far as Trump corruptly wielding the pardon power to protect his associates that wouldn't be particularly surprising. Just another log on the impeachment fire.

Does this have anything to do with the leaked audiotape of Flynn’s lawyer taking a phone call from Trump’s lawyer?

IIRC, there was this issue with Flynn's son being used as a bargaining chip by the Feds in order to leverage Flynn into cooperating.

If Flynn has changed his tune, wouldn't his son now face legal jeopardy?

With that in mind, methinks Flynn is not going for the get out of jail free card.

Its playing the odds ... Is Trump going to get away with it? Everything either stands or falls from there.

From what I've gathered this is basically his response to his lawyers changing their tune recently suddenly claiming the FBI acted improperly after he made the plea deal and cooperated for a year and a half. As a result he was put at risk of actual jail time.

Think this is his way of signalling the court he realizes his lawyers screwed up and to have mercy on him.

oh. so this lawyer sells T-shirts and stuff as a propaganda campaign against the Muller investigation and the FBI?

yeah, no conflict of interest there. Can lawyers even be withheld from representation for such an obvious breach of ethics...or is this something that only judges are expected to adhere to? Hmm, I guess maybe this doesn't really apply to lawyers. They are basically educated and overpriced advertisers, right?

To think that this arrogant fool was to be our NSA boggles the mind. The statement he offered at sentencing was an insult to the Court, throwing shade on the FBI & the prosecution while pleading for mercy. Judge Sullivan took offense, rightfully so.

That's not the kind of contrition the situation demands, at all, and Sullivan called him on it. "Just who the fuck do you think you are, Mr Flynn, other than a confessed felon who sold out his country? Why should I put up with your bullshit?"

Looks like Flynn is gonna double down on the stupid given his new choice of representation. Or maybe there's a whiff of pardon in the air.

I'm trying to figure out the angle here. He's plead guilty, is supposedly still cooperating, and is awaiting sentencing. Judges take presentencing conduct in to account when issuing the sentence. You don't plead guilty and then go in from of the judge having declared that you were framed. You plead guilty if you are guilty, nobody puts a gun to your head and makes you do it. He has nothing to gain and everything to lose by bringing this partisan nutjob in as his attorney. It makes no sense to me.

Maybe he volunteered to cooperate in the hopes of reducing his sentence to no time served, and now that it's time for an accounting he's scared shitless and flailing to save his ass. It could be as simple at that.
