nice 🙂 I was considering the D70 at the beginning of the year but Nikon insisted on not announcing an exact release data so I went out and bought the Digital Rebel 🙂 I am happy with it but I hear good things about the D70 as well 🙂 Digital Rebel was a first in the sub-$1000 level SLR market so I am sure Nikon corrected a lot of Canon's mistakes and came up with a much better product so enjoy your D70 and take a whole lot of pictures. And yes, your wife rocks 🙂
 
lucky bastard 😛 I want a wife that'll give me the digital rebel.. or.. a 10D right about now. no, wait, let me rephrase that, i just want a gf to give me a dslr. hehe

I just took her out on a casual shoot today. The first pic from the camera is her portrait.
Still hit and miss so far, but I'm learning. Need to hit the manual later tonight.

I thought my F707 was complicated the first time I got it.
That was nothing, this thing is a monster.

I wouldn't say that D70 is a much better product than DR. Each has it's own strength and weaknesses.
D70 can't touch the silky smooth DR ISO100, while D70 is faster than DR.
DR is still an awesome camera, especially that much cheaper now.
I think onecall sell the kit for around $870 the other day. What a bargain!
 
the dreb can be had for 800 for the kit plus shipping from buydig (a pretty reputable place), so yeah, a better bargain than the d70... but again, the d70 is a tad faster, and build quality is probably better. I don't really like the digital rebels cheap plastic.. makes it feel like their film rebel line.. not the $800 I'm about to plop on it 🙂 Thinking of getting a d30.. but the costs would have been so close, and no warranty.

It looks normal for dry phoenix weather.
