Look what I found hopping across the road

So I'm driving home tonight, and just a little ways into the apartment complex parking lot I see this little guy hopping across the road. Seeing as I'd just successfully hacked my "disposable" digital camera, I felt the urge to photograph it and share it with y'all. If you couldn't tell by the pictures, there's a reason why this camera only goes for $10.99.

Oh yeah, if any of you are interested in the hack -- and don't wanna search the archives for the post that got me interested in it in the first place -- go here and read up. (EDIT: This is a forum devoted to nothing but hacking these cameras.)

The thing was about the size of a half-dollar. Not much good eating, and probably mildly poisonous even if you tried. At the very least, it'd taste bad.

Besides, it's small enough to classify as "cute", and I don't eat cute things.

The original ATOT thread contains info about the first-gen versions, which aren't sold anymore. The link I gave you is the best one... until I make a tutorial of my own.

Sorry, I probably should have made it clearer: that forum is devoted to nothing but hacking these cameras. The FAQ there is iffy at best -- requires you to jump all over to get it done. Like I said, I'll make up a new tutorial of my own.

$19 for the ones with the LCD screen, but I used the $11 no-LCD version.

I think half of it is thanks to the conversion utility I used to convert it from the proprietary format on the camera to PNG. It has an option to use "complex gamma correction" which really helps the photos a lot.

Color's a bit lacking sometimes though. Aside from the fixed focus, that's my only gripe.

I'd rather you pay $100 and get me a decent 2 megapixel camera. This is what I can afford. Besides, if I lose this camera I'm out $11 bucks, compared to $100.
