Well here is my new toy. It's my first LCD monitor and man I LOVE IT! I haven't experienced DVI before as well, and man this thing is runnin great! The text is so clean. My eyes aren't the best either. Before I was runnin my old CRT 17" at 1024xwhatever resolution and the text was good sized for me there. Now on this one I'm runnin 1280x1024 @ 75Hz and it looks great and I can read the text just clear on my eyes 🙂

Here are some pics:

FYI, if you couldn't tell, it's the Samsung 191T+ monitor in Silver. It has a response time of 25ms, but I hardly game now a days on PC so I didn't care about that. I just wanted a new monitor since my 17" was startin to look faded and now that I'm doing computer graphics as well, I wanted somethin nicer that I could use a higher resolution on. Well anyways, enjoy the pics 😛

nice, but you shoulda gone with a dell. 😛

I was consindering it, but I decided against it for a few reasons.

First of all, the cost. I couldn't really afford $800 (when on sale) for a monitor. I spend around $600 on this one, and its only 1 inch different.

Then you might say "but the response time sucks! it's 25ms!" and to that I would say that I dont even play games on PC now a days, and I watch movies on my 27" wega instead of my PC, w/my 5.1. So the response time wasn't a big deal to me, especially after reading reviews on all the LCD's.

And the third reason I didnt get it, was because it's native resolution is 1600x1200. And even on 20" monitor, I read from plenty people that the text is pretty small. And me not havin the greatest eyes, I wouldn't even run it in its native resolution. And from this LCD experience, within 5 minutes, I can tell you that if you dont have it set to native resolution, the picture doesn't look as great as one would like.

So there are the reasons I didn't go with the dell, although I know its a kick@ss monitor! Oh, that and I wanted an LCD now and didnt want to wait for a sale to get one, cause there is no telling when the dell would be back on sale.

I wish I could afford a new monitor.

I'm still using the ADI ProVista 15" I bought brand new like.. 5 years ago. :Q

Still works fine tho.. been on basically 24/7 all that time.

I run it at 1024x768 @ 85Hz

trust me, i know your feeling heh. I had my 17" monitor from like 1999 when I purchased a p2 333mhz computer from best buy for like $1500 ... came w/the monitor and the computer and a printer. This was before I got into hardware and stuff and realized how to build my own PC. But this one was starting to fade and what not, and it was time for an upgrade. I didn't really have that much $$$ to spend on a monitor right now, but I threw it on the CC as my CC was currently all paid off. And now I have 2 interviews lined up so I'm thinking I'll get a 9-5 pretty soon making enough to easily pay this off.
