What can you guys tell me about this chip? SLAX? as in SLACR X? :D

I'm anxiously awaiting my DFI LP LT x48 T2R. Comes in on wednesday :(

Slight addendum...it means he has a Q9450 xeon equivalent AND the next soon-to-be-announced C1 stepping which should bring lower VID's, lower power consumption, and higher overclock margin at any given Vcore relative to the current C0 stepping 45nm quads.

No idea if this will be the same magnitude of improvements that B3->G0 was for Q6600...but it is expected to function better with higher FSB speeds...

I don't want to nit pick, but thats all FUD.

First of all, all Q9xxx and Xeon X33xx are C1 stepping. His cpu is nothing special, there are no C0 stepping of these chips. That's exactly why intel has been waiting so long to release them.

Second of all, C1 stepping doesn't show any of those improvement that you mention over C0, the only fix is a bug that can cause errata at high FSB.

Lower VID, lower TDP, higher overclock margin at same voltage, thats all bullshit, I don't know where you got that from. Care to back it up with a link?

There are C1 chips already circulating, people have tested them on XS, and they seem to be worse volts/volts than C0. Probably because people are comparing the C1 quads to the C0 QX quads, and drawing the conclusion that that C1 is a bit worse volts/volts, when that is obviously not a fair comparison (one chip is mainstream, the other is super binned and expensive). And as far as FSB clocking, the go just as far as C0, 460-470 max.

Lets not spread BS now, shall we.

One of my Q6600, is 443 <--- an OK overclocker
