Well at least Germany has a strong Social welfare program, so they should all have housing, school, medical care and monthly stipend.

Because, even if some say this is incredibly "socialist", stupid or whatever...it is indeed the BEST Germany can do, to have the refugees/immigrants learn the language and pay (yes, pay!) for their education. (My example above with the Syrians who got a degree here comes to mind).

Because the alternative is...they come here and won't ever get a job unable to speak the language and not having an education...means forever a burden on the system. Hardly the better option.

It's also noteworthy to mention that Germany's (unlike the UK's) population numbers are shrinking so that immigrants (IN THEORY) can add something beneficial to the economy.

Of course, I am not all blue-eyed...but I see it from the positive side at this point.

Not so much that the "welcome" has worn out. It's more to do with the sudden/massive influx.

THEY ARE HERE now, you can't change this fact and even more will come...so whether people like it or not...Europe will have to deal with this.

I kind of wonder how long it will take until Iraqi refugees follow the Syrians.

I am not sure about the Integration part, they will get the benefits but I suspect they will want to bring their way of life to Germany. Islam is not compatible with democracy.

We get it. You hate black people.

We? No one in this thread except you pulled the race card. This thread is about EU and refugee problem, nothing about race.

Get your stupid head out of your ass and try to breath. What a simpleton wanker.

Nobody even knows who is an actual Syrian refugee at this point. They could be from anywhere because most have no form of ID.

Iraqi: "I hear they're giving away German lifestyles. Let's throw away our passports and hop on a train."

Why wouldn't you? Even a German welfare lifestyle is better than most people in the middle east have it.

Good point. I'm normally pretty liberal when it comes to govt taking care of it's own citizens but illegal immigration really pisses me off. I don't care how bad things suck in your home country. If you don't make the effort to make things better for yourself, sure a shit no one else is going to.

And that's a good point about the lack of documentation. Germany has no idea who they're letting in at this point. It reminds me of the time US was taking in Cuban immigrants and Castro used the opportunity to empty his jails.

Four out of five refugees are NOT from Syria.

And it is a freaking mess between EU countries on how to deal with this massive problem.

When the numbers became uncontrollable Berlin shut its borders, throwing Austria, Hungary and other EU countries into turmoil.

Croatia has received 14,000 migrants in the past two days and was last night moving some to the Hungarian border.

Hungary is laying razor wire on the border having done the same on its border with Serbia.

Croatia has closed seven of eight road crossings to Serbia and ordered its border guards to redirect migrants to Hungary and Slovenia. The Hungarian government described this as 'totally unacceptable'.

People pull the race card because it works extremely well. People have learned that white guilt is an endless gravy train as long as you use the magic words.

Except the alternative is just as likely to occur when you have folks pushing back politically against the expectation of requiring these people to learn the language, to adopt the Western cultural and institutional norms, or the expectation that they should get off the government dole ASAP because as they see there is no problem with someone choosing to make these handouts to be a comfortable hammock rather than a safety net. Which is more likely to occur out of political ideological reasons (i.e. the politics of Political Correctness) which toxicities all meaningful good intention of any government policies and abhors the expectation that these people are to integrate themselves into German society and expects the opposite to occur instead.

The problem with their socialism though is that Germany is running out of everyone's money... right? :hmm:
