(&(^$*$@!!! IDIOTS!!!

A company we contracted with to develop a new product for us shipped me the 3 servers that the product will be talking to. I can not believe how these morons packed them. All 3 Dell Rack systems were in one fricken box.

The servers arrived about 11 and the dude from the company in California arrived about noon. All i could do is just say, dude if you think im going to put these 3 servers in production your crazy.

Let me know if this new link works

Oh, for me they are quite slow and seem too big for the common picture whore to take down in one swallow. ;)

If they buy you new servers and you get to keep the damaged ones and you dont want them I will be glad to take them off your hands, I'll pay for shipping.

it just about was.

On a side note, these servers were already built/configed and ready to put in production. All I had to do was add a static IP. If this new product is not up and running by the first of the year heads are going to roll and will proably mean more layoffs.

this kind of crap pisses me off.

Out..,making something production ready and losing it is well..hellish..my condolences....hopefully if you get other machines hte software shouldn't take too long too install. Partitioning and all the hardware software, such as the RAID Arrarys take time to redo, but this shouldn't be too bad...

been there, done that.

Had a citrix system shipped to me from Dallas to KC. It arrived with a broken monitor, metal case that was obviously dropped and was not square, and just general crappiness. It was obvious that the computer had been dropped or jumped on.

Still, it booted up and I used another monitor we had.

that's bad... they put a $10k+ server in a uhaul wardrobe box and didn't think UPS was going to use it as a stepstool? Good luck trying to claim insurance damages (if they even paid for it) on that one!!

Someone's head needs to roll for that.

WHAT!?! I missed that part... someone NEEDS to be fired for that one. Those servers aren't exactly light. No wonder the delivery guy treated them like crap. In fact, I don't see a way to move that box without damaging the servers (you'd have to dolly under the end and stand the servers on their faces/bottoms, leading to the bent cable-guide connectors from the pics).
