Look for software that will send an alert if a system goes down

Not sure what to call it, but I've got a system at work down in our basement phone room that I need to know if/when it goes down. It's just a old reporting box that we don't log into frequently but it needs to be up as much as possible to keep track of phone calls. It's apparently been down for 2 months. I fail as a tech lol.

Big Brother is EOL soon. Dell/Qwest will be pushing Foglight. Some BB users say this product is similar in function to BB.

I use copper egg. It's not free, but it works pretty good.

I ended up using a Windows 7 gadget called Network Monitor (http://samwtucker.com/NetworkMonitor) that basically just sits there and pings the device, if it times out it will shoot an email alert and / or audibly let you know. Best of all it's free, so far works great!
