Hello fellow brethren, I'm not well versed in the Hip Hop/Rap world, I'm more of an Alt. Rock kind of guy, and I think most of you guys would agree that the majority of the new Rap and Hip Hop (if you can even call it that) is complete and utter shit.

I'm looking for something along this vein:

Awesome guys (especially Woosta)! I knew I could count on you, keep em coming!

Yeah, a lot of these artists and similar songs are appearing when I create a new radio station with JMT as a seed on Pandora. I'll be sure to check all your links out :)

A lot of these songs are bringing back memories of what I heard on the Radio back in the mid and late 90s, I just never knew what the songs were called!

Actually I lied... I'm not a rap n00b, really, but I really hate the stuff that has come out in the last 4-5 years (and even before that it was still pretty crappy with 50 cent but he's the lesser of 2 evils...) I just love beats with a nice hook, like Chronic 2001, Xzibit (best of things), Tupac (Changes), etc...

I mean can you believe that this guy is signed to a record label?

Rap has turned into crap these days which is why something of substance like Eminem's Recovery has moved so many units (2 million+ already). I'd rate it as 4/5 but not a hiphop classic; fans are starved so they are listening to music from back in the day that trumps the majority of stuff you hear today. Like:
