Hey I have a CD writer and was looking to dump in in favor of a DVD/cd writer, not looking to spend over 100, any suggestions would be great ( not worry about write speed average is ok).

PS: IF ANYONE KNOWS if they still make any drive that write cd and dvd in a "feed me" style drive thats what iam really looking for.

Feed me= no cd tray just a small slot to stick the drive in and out.

Yeah... the only ones I've seen are made by eMachines... for eMachines.

Yeah, the new Plextor 716AL is very nice, but having the only slot loading desktop burner, they can charge what the market will bear. It's price has no correlation with its intrisic merits. The only other option is to adapt a notebook drive, but they always have lower top speeds (for both reading and burning) than desktop drives. Another drawback is that it only comes in black. Makes it hard to see the slot in a dimly lit room... But then we all have that problem at one time or another and it doesn't stop us from getting it in there. ;)
