I have to agree with you all on the Shepherd breed ;)
UPDAtE: Found a place to do the shots for $15 so were going later today when we pick up our son from school.

Update 2: Good thing we did take here to the doctors today because when she finnaly pooped she has worms in the poop. She was treated for that today and I am assuming in three weeks she will be getting more meds for that again.

This dog was found in the back of our house sleeping by our back door and wouldnt leave. I finnaly broke down and brought it in when it would stay out by the back door in near freezing temps. She was as skinny as the pup we found today when we took her in. Stuck pictures up all over town but no one has come to claim her.

I guess we're freaking magnets for stray dogs :p

Any one have an idea on breed by chance???

She is super skinny. You can see her ribs, hip, and spine. It wouldnt of been but one more day out in the wild she would of been dead. I didnt really want another dog but there were no houses just field and her. I couldnt just drive by and leave it to the hawks :(

So now it has a home. Not sure what breed but has huge paws for a little thing so what ever it is its going to be huge. Good thing I own a big house and back yard :D

Now were just thinking of a name ;)

Were thinking of Karie because my wife carried her from the side of the road :p

Buy my stuff so I can take the puppy to the vet :D

Nice job, Jason.
She looks like a shepherd mix. The vet can be more specific, but that is the large part of her background, IMO.
She is starving and it will be tough, but teach her food manners right now. You don't want her taking off some kid's finger for messing with her food dish, and she had a traumatic start.

I tested her and she growled at me but that could be the who knows how many day without food speaking. Once she fattens up I will start to train her if she continues to do it.

She is going to be a great dog. Im holding her right now asleep in my arms and grunting like a relaxed grunt of finnaly I can stop walking around and food is in my tummy :D

Definitely has some shepherd in her. Any spots on her tongue, by chance? If so, might be some chow, too.

All of my dogs found me, just like that one found you. Nice job.

And I wouldn't worry about a dog that growls when you mess with its food....that's pretty normal. Plus, she doesn't know you very well yet.

shepherd mix

That would be my guess. She's a lucky gal to have found you.

I wish you all the best.

another thing for any dog's training is nail and teeth maintenance. so many dogs cannot stand the nails trimmed, and get muzzled at the vet's office for it. I take them as puppies and handle the feet and toes every day, and also rub the gums and teeth, roll them all over, and get them used to being handled. When she is 90+ pounds, you will be so happy you did:)
She'll practically hand you a paw for trimming.

No spots or black tongue. I thought chow at first, have to wait for it to get a little bit older I guess.
