thanks a bunch ssp, anyways the problem is on the right hand side of the picture. Can you see that vertical line that is discolored?? WHat the hell is that??

can you please explain further on this. DO you mean that the hardware in the monitor is out of whack and set too far to the right, or that i set my geometry settings up wrong?
 
Try size the witdh of the picture till you get a little black line on boths sides. it looks like it is streached a bit to far.
 
gee, thanks i guess i never really thought about that. you know what it solved the problem. My picture is a little cropped on the sides, but i prefer it this way. movies looked to stretched before i enlarged the horizontal sides. Still, i dont like having to constantly resize my screen especially because the damn buttons on my iiyama visonmaster pro 450 are so hard to use. are there anyprograms that will increase horizontal and vertical with in software???
