Are you sure you aren't thinking of Acer?

Exactly. They make some cheap models I am sure, but overall, I would consider Asus one of the better laptop makers.

Anyway, regarding the linked device, you could close the lid, use the screen on top, and have the keyboard totally close up, which I see as an advantage over something like the Lenovo Yoga, which also has to fold almost 360 degrees.

However, a detachable tablet seems to make more sense to me.

Detachable makes more sense to me too, and I'm surprised there aren't more of them. There are little no detachable tablets with digitizer pen. The only one I can think of is the Samsung ATIV, but the keyboard is pretty flimsy and doesn't provide extra battery power. The Lenovo Helix looks like exactly what I want and it's due out soon, but the base model is about $1500.

I got one HP Envy X2 with Atom processor in it for $599.99; I didnot see it yet. I hope it will do whatever I want. HP need to make one with haswell in it and price it less than $1000. Time soon come. I wonder how these hybrid going to cpmpare with the tablets. I had one cheap android tablet and I don't see the sense for me to have one so I pass it on.

They should make it fold twice, then when you want to use it you can whip it out and be awesome.
