Look at these Kyro Benchmarks!!!!!!!!!!!!

This should give you an idea if not an answer to all the questions any of you have been asking....

(regarding Windows 2K performance, CPU scaling, overclocking, benchmarks in Star Trek Voyager type games, counterstrike, giants, and more.)

Good Benchmarks

P.S. Also noticed he was using Directx8a and I noticed he was using older drivers. Performance is nevertheless very good but may be better with 7.114a drivers...😀😀

I gotta get one now, i can't take it anymore. This V5 will be retired in the upcoming weeks. All i care about is win2k and linux performance.

<< The two KYRO II cards dominate the field quite clearly. Even the GF2 GTS has here no chance, in no dissolution! If here also does not regard, it is however nevertheless clear us that the GTS card pulls the KYRO cards of it under 16 bits. Who thus only the pure rate looks up has with the GTS still the faster card.
Cutting of the HP 4000XT off under 1024x768 pixels is interesting. There it is situated directly on with the two large cards, only starting from 1024x768 can it any longer keep up, their grundleistung is then simply too small.
The KYRO card and the GF2 MX has bandwidth problems, which become very clear with 1280x1024 starting from 1024x768 pixels.
Remarkably also the good quality of the OGL of driver under W2K. one achieves for instance the same values as under Win98SE. The GF2 GTS did not want to run unfortunately under 1280x1024 at all, therefore here no valuation

Actually if you look at the 9x verse the 2K performance, it's only around .01% difference in migration to from 9x to 2K. That's amazing, i gotta get one now...

Does anyone have the Kyro2 and Quake2? Quake2 Has the PVR GL option in its set of GL preferences, i wonder how it performs on something written to it.

Kyro was changed quite significantely from Neon250 and doesn't support PowerVRSGL officially, although there are some mention of PVRSGL in the drivers so it might be interesting for someone to try it out on Q2's PVRSGL option.

Those benchmarks pretty much still show that it's roughly equivalent to a GF2 GTS.

Having said that, I'm eagerly awaiting the Kyro3. If it offers equivalent performance to a GF3 but costs less, it will be a real winner.

Just tried the Quake 2 PVR option on my Kyro2. It told me where I could stick the PVR GL and reverted back to software. Looks seriously smooth using standard openGL though.

THnx loonie. Now what kind of frame rate did you receieve? Also BFG, if Kyro3 will be on par with GF3 in theory, then what will the GF3 MX version serve as? It has to be competing with something in this arena. I wonder if kyro2 will hit 50 dollars when kyro3 is launched....

All I'm concerned about is the price/performance ratios. I'm a little nervous about my future with nVidia because I already have a GTS and my only other upgrade options (Pro, Ultra, GF3) are too pricey for me.

If the Kyro3 competes well with a GF3 and costs much less, I'll definitely snap one up. I'm also looking out for the Radeon2 and keeping an eye on its price.

Well said BFG, price to performance ratio is all that matters. Unless you are hardcore and gotta have the best😉. that is probably why people who need a card now are jumping on the Kyro 2 bandwagon since it is the best upgrade for now(no need to spend more money if great cards are right around the corner). Everybody who doesn't need a card yet is waiting for Oct. - Dec. release dates for Kyro 3 and Geforce 3 Ultra?

ok, i didn't really read the article thoroughly, but i looked at most of the benchmarks...so i might be putting my foot in my mouth...but i'm skeptical of these benchmarks. basically, they show the geforce2 mx and the geforce2 gts performing almost the same on most benchmarks. i'm talking about high resolution benchmarks where the mx shouldn't be close to the gts. am i worng here...did i miss something?

Some games are geometry limited. In this case, fillrate is not an issue.
