Of course there are clouds hugging the mountains to the east here in LA when there's a once in a decade+ blood moon event.![]()
Well, since this is the 4th total lunar eclipse this year & 3 were visible to you(LA) & 3 more are coming in 2018/19 - 2 visible to you i'd hardly call it a "once in a decade+" event.
Not counting this years, there were 6 total lunar eclipses in the last 10 years & there will be 9 in the next 10 years.
"Blood moon" is just another name for eclipsed moon that's become popular in the last several years.
