Longevity of X4 980 with a 1.5v overclock

Ha. I tried 1.4v at the stock 3.7 Ghz and it wasn't stable. What a lousy chip I got! Wonder if I should RMA it with Newegg for another?
Set 1.400, then go up in increments of 0.01v until you're fully stable. Even a few thousands off, would make your temps better. I know, it's a tedious procedure. And try not to go above 50c. Deneb likes cold.

2) I don't think, you have got a particularly awful chip. But there is only so much one can do, when you hit the limits of architecture. If you do RMA it though, then get a different chip instead. Thuban and Zambezi are much easier to overclock.
