Around 72 hours. I find after the first 24-48 hours, you don't even feel all that hungry anymore, just extremely weak and tired.

whys that?

Was twenty years old, hoofing it around Rhode Island with a friend trying to find work and a place to live. We ran out of money, and after four days his pride broke down and he walked to his Mom's house (about ten miles each way) and brought back a meatloaf sandwich which we split. That was a damned good sandwich.

I've done 3 days many times. The first time was in jail, they just didn't feed me anything for over a day as we were traveling in cop cars and I realized after a while "man, I don't even need to eat!", after about 24-36 hours your "hunger hormone" or whatever just stops working and the craving for food dies, in my experience. That inspired me to try again and again on my days off work, and I would go 3 days without eating all the time. Apparently this is healthy because it "regenerates neurons in your brain" or something, they found that people that do this kind of fasting live longer, they even have acronyms like ADF (alternate day fasting) or 5:2 fasting, etc.

I had strep throat once that I thought was just a bad cold and would go away. I went 8 days consuming nothing more than a bowl of soup and less than a quart of water. I lost about 12 lbs and was in pretty bad shape by the time I managed to get to the emergency room, where they shot me full of penicillin.

Other than that, about 48 hours.

~5 days, when I used to get migraines i'd just not have an appetite for awhile. Didn't even realize it had been that long until I sat down and thought about the last time I had eaten.

This.

You can get a migraine bad enough it makes you want to throw up (sometimes you do). Food is not appealing. Sometimes you can end up "sleeping" for a few days too.

Come to find out many of my migraines were allergies to synthetic flavorizers, sweeteners, etc. I avoid that stuff now, and I don't get them hardly at all anymore...but ironically I'm recovering from one today. There's still a few things that set it off, I can't do anything about.

Right now I have a bad cold, strep throat, or some other shit. Have not ate that much in the past few days and sucks that dairy just makes all your shit worse otherwise I could just drink a glass of milk and get some protein and not pay as much for not getting the daily need for protein.
