I can't find anything either. I would think the oldest Olympic record would be Bob Beamon's (I think this was his name)long jump record of 29+ feet set at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City.

If you mean the one that lasted the longest I think it was Corneilus Warmerdam (not sure of spelling) in 1939 he pole vaulted 15ft 8 1/2" and it was 20 years before anyone else even went 15 feet. A unbelievable vault with a bamboo vaulting pole.

Bob Beamon's record of 29' 2 1/2" was the first to come to mind for me too. Beamon's record, was broken by Mike Powell on 8-30-91 with a leap of 29' 4 1/2", but is still an Olympic record that stands after 32 years!

I had a college instructor, who was also the track coach, who sincerely believed Beamon's record would not be broken for 50 years, that it was that much of a milestone.
