After few months doing CPDN, 2 days ago I got 24 day-long (approx.) task from CPDN server. Is this normal? I'm used to 3 / 7 / 14 day-long tasks, so I'm a bit surprised once I had this.

I have seen complaints from somewhere, that a task ran for over a year. Imagine waiting on a wingman to validate that one for you.

I have two that were completed in May of 2016 waiting for validation. Needless to say it not high on my project list.

Wow, that's quite a reason why this project is never popular. I love their concept of climate sim., but 1 year duration is just too much. I wonder why they never consider GPU app to solve this.

Yes they do, but not sure if total points are awarded.

Most of my points came from invalid tasks. It's pita knowing that days of crunching ended up with zero points, but it hurts more when I got points although I did nothing for the advancement of the project.

CPDN becomes personal for me because my family is partly affected by climate change Well, most of them due to poor urban planning and "bendable rules", but increasing rain intensity in the last decade magnifies the problem.

Since I was born until I moved to Yogyakarta in 2010, we almost never had flooding issue, but in recent years, they reported of having some short duration flooding per year and it's kind of sad every time I heard that.

As I don't have proper knowledge to mitigate it and the local government doesn't give an a to us, I believe my contribution in CPDN will somehow indirectly help people out there to not suffer what we have here.

I had a CPDN task recently that, after about two weeks of processing, was estimating completion in 4,297 days. I aborted it and downloaded a new one.

What? I believe they asked you to model entire Earth climate for the whole century.

I think it was a climate model for Jupiter...
