Longest Battery Life Laptops..

I've been killing myself researching what laptop has the best battery life and so far it ends up being the Ibm Think Pad laptops.

Though those laptops usaully end up costing a bunch, was wondering if anyone knows of any other brands that are around the 6 hour range and are affordable.

I've been told that 700m can pull out 5 hours max on the 8 cell and that the 700m does have some drainage issue, but I've been scoping it out and it looks great, especially at such cheap prices.

Gateway 45xx series. Friend bought one on sale @ BBY for like $1200 (CDRW, Pentium M 705) and gets 5 hours with no wi-fi and low brightness.

I'm getting 6 hour's easily with the Toshiba R100 that has a 3 cell internal and a 6 cell external battery... The external battery comes standard with the lappy.

Sager NP3790.

6hours and 15min w/ the 12 cell battery.

The specs are VERY nice for a laptop that lasts more than 6 hours: 15.4" screen & M9700 graphics card.

Apple iBook can get 6 hours on one battery charge fairly easily.

My IBM R50 pulls almost 6 hrs on my 9 cell battery. I can also slap in a CD bay battery which would push me to somewhere around 9 hrs.

I'm using my 700M now and I wouldn't say it "easily" gets over 6 hours. If you are getting 5 hours out of it you're using the battery very sparingly. With WIFI on, basic apps like IE and word I get a little less than 5 I think and this is with lowest brightness.
