Long work weeks suck...

My official position at my local Papa John's is as a driver - I usually work around 35 hours a week, it's a cake job - I love doing it. Last week, we had to fire one of our assistant managers because his dumbass was stealing money from the store, and because I'm the only other member of the staff who can fill his position, naturally I took it over until a suitable replacement could be found.

So this week, the general manager of our neighboring store also decided to be a clusterfuck and steal 1,700 and blame it on theft - too bad the dumbass stole it on camera  Now the company has decided that it's best for the General manager of my store to move to that store since the bitch got fired and is not incarcerated.

Now the assistant general manager of my store has moved up to general manager, and where does that leave me - as acting assistant general manager until a suitable replacement can be found (we only make up half of the management team that is needed for our store) - now I get to work 65 hours a week for the next two weeks until the company can get someone in here - oh joy....

On the bright side, my paycheck will be much higher that usual  (although I will not be recieving a raise along with my new position  ).

Anyone else work these kinds of crazy hours?

Now that's intelligence. You would think that a GM would know where the cameras are in his own damn store.

something to look foward to

I worked those hours for years and never collected a penny in overtime. That's one of the advantages of upper management. You get to work as many hours as you want.:frown:

Well, I'm hourly, so I will get some overtime.

$6.70 x 40 = $268

($6.70 x 1.5) x 25 = $251.25

So, I'll be looking at a check in the neightborhood of $519.25 - about 100 bucks more than I'd make working an average 35 hour week.

Well, easy for me to say this, but... "If you want me to perform the duties of an Asst GM, I ask that you pay me a reasonable salary."

I'd tell them to pay me more for being assistant general manager or they can go F themselves. You can get a delivery job anywhere but it takes them a lot of time to find and train an assiatant manager.
