The last time I had a long wait on a movie, they shipped it from another netflix DC, so I had 2 movies out for a while (on a 1 movie out at a time plan).

Its not a time. If they had a time they would put it.
What it means is they have very few copies and many people want to rent it. When each person returns their copy it goes to the next person and so on. Since you are technically allowed to keep stuff forever, it could never come back.
I would plan on waiting a while.

usually stays there for about a month...sometimes longer...sometimes shorter. I would call it a long wait rather than a short one.

It can also mean you watch the movies as soon as you get them and put them right back in the mail costing them more money than somebody that holds onto it for a week and they don't like you so everybody else gets the first shot at the new movies.

I've had a movie at the top of my que listed as "Very Long Wait" for over a month. The other day it was changed to "Long Wait"

That would make sense if they didnt send you anything when the top item on your que was listed as a wait. But they send the next available movie on your que instead.

One time they sent me the next available movie in my que AND the one that was on wait which was sent from another Netflix center, which took longer. so I actually had two movies out at once even though I am only on the one DVD at a time plan. Which I thought was pretty good service on Netflix's part
