Long Tubing

Alright so my radiator and fans have always been detatched and sitting outside my case (for the most part on top). I was thinking about making an enclosure for my window that would basically take put my radiator outside. This way my room would be quiter and I could run the fans at full speed all the time. First of all, I would have to add probobly 7 ft either way to get to the window and back. I know I would probobly want my case to be above the window, but do you think adding that much toobing would be a problem? I am using 1/2 ID. One more thing, considering the humidity varies so much more outside do you think the fans would operate propely?

longer tubing is fine. just make sure the pump can handle that much head (drop or loss). how much of a height variable will there be between the location of the pump and the window?

most pumps these days should be able to handle 15 feet i think, not sure though.

Depends on the pump, what do you have? The fans should run fine as long as you make sure that rain and snow can't get into them.

Also if you have your rad outside make sure it won't freeze out there during the winter 😉

It doesn't matter. Remember potential energy?
What ever energy it takes to overcome gravity to raise the water will be gained again when gravity helps pull the water back down. In a WC system gravity is a net zero proposition.

Hmm that too. Insulate the tubing and water blocks then 😀

Heck at that point might as well insulate the whole area around the mobo and go phase change 😛

Hah, well I have the mcp655 I believe. I don't think freezing would be a problem as long as the comptuer was on...also I most of the "coolants" used in water cooling are basically anti-freeze. I am relatively sure the freezing point of the liquid in my computer is far below 32 degrees. Condensation in the case could be a point, I would have to think about that. For now, I am not yet implementing this because I have found fans that aren't as loud as the ones I was using.

Condensation is this biggest concern, and I can't really think of a way to prevent it, besides putting a de-humidfier in the case.
