Long time since a REBOOT

I have been recently, just installed some new hardware...normally I go 6-8 weeks before turning it off for maintence.

No hiberfil.sys on this machine. It's a Windows 2000 datacenter server. Even the windows updates don't make it reboot. There is a page procedure on rebooting the darn thing with numbers to call. About as fun as calling up the underwriters to get a hot work permit.

EDIT: it's not over a year that 11k hour figure has to be divided by four.

Damn! You have to go to a committe at my company as well for a reboot request. You can thank SOX for that.

i turn it off every night unless im defragging/downloading/transferring/whatever.

have to save electricity. its freaking expensive over here! also i dont want my leds inside my comp to die out quickly, even though i have 2 fan controllers...

Most of the MS security patches and stuff require reboot. That happens about once a month here, how do you avoid rebooting for them? Sorry, answer later in thread.

Agreed, that's why I turn mine off every night. Power bill for two people in a 2-bedroom apartment this month and last month was about $34 ;)
