Long shot: Help me find a game from about 10 years ago

OK, I'm having a wave of nostaliga.

About 10 years ago, I used to play this game all the time. I can't remember the title or anything except the below:

- One or two player co-op
- Had some kind of dinosaur theme
- Main characters were a barbarian guy, a dwarf, a warrior girl (thanks to cw42)
- It was a "3D sidescroller" like the Ninja Turtles arcade game (I know you know the one I mean)
- Main characters could ride some "good" dinosaurs (maybe?)
- Health gauges were divided into segments, colored blue

OK, so the title is "Golden Axe" (Kaervak you're the man). Now where can I get it?

It was originally an arcade game that was subsequently released whne the Genesis came out in 88? Buy it here

if they had it on sega im sure funcoland has it. it was hard for me to hunt down a copy of the original metal gear on NES before the PSX version came out though...

This game was teh roxor on Genesis! I loved beating the dwarves to make them cough up their gold!

Golden Axe 2 wasn't too bad. Not as good as the original but still decent. Golden Axe 3 on the other hand is beyond horrid. It was only released in japan (also for the genesis)...boy oh boy was it bad.

Its too bad the arcade sequel (Revenge of Death Adder) was never ported to a home console. You could emulate it but I'm not sure of the quality of the emulation.
