Long shot, but is there anywhere on the C drive that keeps a file directory of another drive ?

I went on vacation for a week and my 3TB seagate drive I keep for storage went down. I've tried different SATA cables and power cables. SOmetimes it'll show up in "My Computer" but with no access, it'll say drive is not accessible, i/o device error. No clicking noises.

The thing is that I had files on that drive that I feel were important, but I'm not sure what's on there. Is there a hidden directory or file somehwere that maybe indexes files throughout the system that I can maybe retrieve?

Microsoft Search / indexing stores its db *somewhere* but I have no idea if it's C: and if there's any way for you to get at it. Google might show something.

I'm not sure what an index would be helping if you can't access the drive.
