Long shot, but can any Microbiologist help me with producing insulin antibodies?

I just started working at this microbiology lab couple days ago as a summer job for experience, and we are using mouse ascites to produce various antibodies. Today my team leader asked me to find some techniques we can use to produce antibodies against insulin (in vivo with mouse).
she informed me that antibodies against insulin is not easy to obtain, plus we don't have any BSA attached insulin so the job is even harder. Last week she tried a technique involving the removal of mouse lymph node and results turn up to be negative today.
So can anyone point me to some step by step procedures that will allow us to produce antibodoes against insulin, or perhaps another online location where I can seek this type of information?
Thank you so much in advance

My girlfriend is a biologist. She works in the tox lab though, but she might know anyway since she does some stuff for the micro lab as well. She obviously isn't at work with me right now though.

Have you tried searching PubMed?

BTW I currently study microbiology/genetics, although immunology is not my strong side 🙂

funny, when I was doing research two years ago one of the people in my lab was working on a project just as you are. she too had a hard time, i think she used a similar method as your team leader and also had low yeilds. Unfourinitly, i ended up leaving a month later so I really dont know how it turned out. best of luck.

thanks for all the response/encouragement. I've mainly looked through google/pubmed so far and cannot find any alternative way to do this.

Extract some stem cells from a diabetic overly allergic geek - and produce the antibodies from them. 😉
