I bought a couple for my rigs, a few years back. Paid $180 ea. Some nice Gigabyte-branded ones, with 1GB RAM, and twin fans. Little did I know that those fans were cheap ones, and would start to fail in under 3 years. Anyways...

What is a good replacement card today that is a step up from the GTX460? I could have purchased an HIS 7950 Boost 3GB model for under $220 recently.

I rarely game, more interested in DC, not so totally into CUDA as much anymore, as many projects going forward are coded in OpenCL.

Weird, My MSI GTX 460 Cyclone has decided to start artifacting BADLY when on the desktop and really crapping out when playing videos. Also 3 years old.

Plays 3D games just fine though, which is really strange.

I had 2 eVGA GTX 460 1GB SLI. Disable 'Video (GPU) Acceleration' in Media Player or VLC.

Why would Video Acceleration cause artificats while sitting idle on desktop though? I think I did try that, but I'll go ahead, pop it back in and try again. Anything is better than this 8800GTS 320 I'm limping along on at the moment!
