Long line of video card issues; Do Newegg have an RMA limit?

Hi, I'm new here and had a question I hoped someone here would be able to answer.

I have only been ordering from Newegg since last spring when I ordered a GTX 780 and I mostly bought just video cards from them since.

My 780 was perfect, but when the 970 released I sold my 780 and got 2 970s for SLI. They had pretty bad coil whine like people warned, so I RMA'd both to Newegg and got another pair. I was happy with those, but then the split VRAM pool issue was exposed and my cards did have some issues that made perfect sense then (like sticking to 3.5 GBs of use with some hangups and stutters).

So I RMA'd those for a refund and got a Lightning 290X. Mine had a defective fan and black screen issues, so I RMA'd it back to Newegg and got a Vapor-X 290X instead. This one came scratched up, RMA'd again for the same thing and the second one has a deep, white chip/scratch in the backplate (just got this one, currently using it).

I contacted Sapphire and they said it was a production error and said to RMA with Newegg again.

I don't know if I'm just unlucky or picky but I'm afraid to RMA anymore because I'm afraid Newegg might think I'm trying to scam them and ban me or something.

I was wondering what you guys think? Should another RMA be a problem? Do they have an RMA limit? It's not Newegg who pay anything for defective items, but the manufacturer instead, right? Thanks to anyone who can help, I appreciate the advice.

I would call them or chat with them OP. You paid good money for something and it should come w/o blemishes or defects. You could even give Amazon a try. Their return policy and customer service is top notch.

Even Amazon has return flags.

I'd say you should probably call them because that many cards over just a few months could definitely flag you in their system. Did you order it open box?

I know it's not ideal - but if it's just a scratch in the backplate, is it worth the hassle of an RMA? If the cards working perfectly and you can finally get to some gaming I say get to it ;)

I agree. If its a cosmetic thing like that and doesn't affect functionality I wouldn't worry about it (and I haven't - current card has a scratch on an aluminum shroud).

At this point I'd not fret over a cosmetic thing. Sure, I'd mutter and grumble a bit but if it functions fine then whatever.

Defective fan on a 290x? Join the club. Mine was defective out of the box also. Seems to be a common theme.
