Long hair on guys, and even girls...

My friend Jason says that long hair is ugly on girls or guys. Short hair, just long enough to keep your head warm and sun damage from occuring is the way to go in all cases.
I find long hair on girls and guys to be attractive if kept well groomed. And when I say long hair, I don't mean 2 feet. Long hair on guys can be 6-10 inches, or 2 feet. Short hair, in my opinion, is about an inch in length. Dreads are ugly, as well as afros.
What do you think?

Nah, I happen to love long hair on girls. Certain guys can also pull it off.

I have a friend who has hair down to the small of his back, maybe lower. It looks really good because he keeps it amazingly well taken care of. It's always nice and clean and straight. I think it can look good if it's really well kept like his.

That being said, I looooove girls with short short hair. Like doesn't hit the shoulders, or back of the neck short. Mmmmm.

I think that long hair looks a little weird on guys, but I really like it on girls.

Depends on the person, some guys longer hair is fitting for them, for example Sawyer on Lost, it fits him.

But theres others that it just looks horrible on.

Mostly with females I don't like short hair whatsoever but there are a few that can pull it off and it actually looks really good.

So in other words, it depends.

I had a crew cut my entire life. Just last month decided to let it grow long. Decided I needed to try a few things before I die.... and why not start with simple things.

Guys, depends on the guy and the style..

As long as it is well groomed, Girls with long hair, attractive. (Girls with short hair are attractive too).

Oh and I also voted long hair is only for girls for the guy entry, but maybe thats because I'm losing my goddamn hair.

Anyway, I think that a guy has to have the right combination in order to be able to pull off long hair... it's very rare that someone does it right.

I think a similar thing is true for girls with short hair, it is rare that one can pull it off and still look good.

I'm just recently out of a 4.5 year relationship, and the girl that I have been hanging out with a lot recently used to have short hair and it looked fantastic. I think a lot of it has to do with the personality of the person and how they dress... I don't pretend to understand it :)

Long hair only looks good if it is well-groomed. That is true for men or women. Women tend to do much better at keeping the long hair well-groomed. Thus, it typically looks far better on women.

That doesn't say a man can't keep it well-groomed and look good. But most men with long hair don't do what it takes. They don't take time to use the right shampoo. They rarely use the proper conditioner. And they rarely have a good haircut to maintain the hair (even if that means just trimming the ends even and keeping it long).

The end result is that most men with long hair look something like this. Frizzy, nasty, who-knows-what-lives-in-it hair. That said, if the stereotypes are true, Zysoclaplem, you probably do hang around with the small minority of men that do take care of their long hair properly.

If you keep it well maintained, I really like long hair (especially women from the age of 18-35).

I'm a guy with long hair - it's varied in length from shoulder to nipple since high school (I grew it out from a very short cut). I'm 6'5 and look like a dimwitted pinhead with short hair. Some people like it long on me, some don't - but in my view it fits my frame, and I keep it well groomed and simple, with a ponytail.

(I think) it works on me. It doesn't on many guys. As others have said, it's all about what works for you.

On women, long > short, by a huge margin.

Long hair I don't mind... shaggy hair annoys me, I guess cause every kid and their brother has that haircut it seems (esp. teenagers).
