The point is just as valid though, even if you met her once. What are you going to do, mnasturbate to her photo while she's 2000 miles away? Might as well have porn.

Long distance relationship = all the hassles with none of the sex.

The question isn't "Will it work?" its "Why would you want it to work?"
 
A long distance relationship isn't a true relationship.
You don't function as a couple on a day to day basis, you don't live together (or practically live together).

Sure it can work, but why not just find someone local.
 
VeggieFrog and her b/f did the long distance for almost 2yrs. She was here and he in England. They are both in college in England now. My ex and I did long distance (UK/USA) for 3yrs before we got married and it was only after we were together all the time that it went bad 😉

My current b/f and I were Tennessee/New Jersey for 8 months before we got a house together.

Chances are it wont work, but if you BOTH want it bad enough, set up a time frame to be together for good and work at it, there is a chance it will work.

I have a semi-long distance (diff cities) with my bf and it's been tons of work for over 2 yrs.

See, these are not cases of long distance relationships working. These are cases of close-distance relationships surviving periods of separation. A long distance relationship either turns into a short-distance relationship, or it dies. There is no such thing as a successful long distance relationship.
 
The wife and I were long distance, different countries even, but we traveled a lot and saw each other pretty regularly. It can work, but probably not if you don't see each other that often.
