Long Distance Or Not??

I live in Suwanee,GA, Gwinnett County. Calling to Atlanta, Cobb County isn't long distance. But we use the 770,678,404 telephone codes. Calling to Savannah in another county with a prefix of 912.. is that long distance?? It is still in my state.

HMM It says: ANNOYING NOISE We're sorry, when you are trying to make a local call it is now necessary for the area code and a 7 digit nubmer. what does this mean?

Thanks Scouzer! I dial without the 1 infront and it lets me. That means it isn't long distance correct?

That depends on your telecommunications carrier.

But in general, if you do not have to dial a 1, then it is not long distance.

It may, however, be "extended local calling" - which is not free, but is usually cheaper than long distance.

If your local calling area includes multiple area codes, then you must also dial the area code if you are calling outside of your own area code.... most of the time.

That does *not* mean you must dial the 1 in front of the area code.

damn. Why is it like that????? One part of the state is long distance, another is not. Gay faggs...

Because you suck at getting a long distance package?

Look in the phone book. It shows what is local.

I DO. But i dont want to charge my parents for it. And i wanna talk as much as i want with my friend without having to worry about it.

Well if you want want to charge your parents for it, then buy a calling card. OneSuite is a 1-800 proxy (similar to cards) for <$0.02/minute, IIRC.

Here in Minneapolis, we have 612, 763, and 651 which are all local calls but different area codes. The phone company simply ran out of numbers with the advent of cell phones and pagers. Check your phone book. If it's in your local phone book then it'll probably be in your local calling area and not be considered long distance for billing purposes.

totally depends, in my little tiny state of DE, we only have 302, but seperate counties, calls to the other counties count as toll calls! cost more than even just regular long distance calls!
