So I plan on driving from FL to OR. I have an older (93) Subaru Legacy Touring Wagon (AWD/turbo). 168k miles, 4 new tires, new oil, breakfluid, tranny fluid, etc. No major problems with the car. Who forsees us (the car and I) making it in one piece?

**Update**
The car and I made it successfully with no problems. With about 3 hours left in the journey a semi shot a small rock into my windshield creating a very smal chip. That being the worst that happened, I can't complain.

Have you had any problems with it overheating? Had the radiator flushed lately? Checked all the belts and hoses?

Not a prayer. My Subaru 1600 is sitting in a junk yard in Ranger, TX where it died on a trip from KY to AZ. Make sure you have plenty of freeboard on your credit card.

I predict part of the wing from a passing airliner will fall off, crushing you and your auto. Dreadfully sorry about that.

We managed to drive from NE to WA and back on a 1994 Ford Aerostar with 150k. It can be done, but I sure hope you have good road-side if you do break down.

No problems with the car, has 2 new drive axels in the front, and a new fuel pump as well. Have had everything gone over by 2 mechanics (My father, and a local shop.)

What would be the point of driving ??
If you're moving, it would be the only logical reason.

I made it from DC to seattle in one piece alone, that makes me believe anyone can do it. Be sure to stop and see the sights....
