at 549 that seems like a pretty good deal also, considering the premium, and bigger HD. What is the difference between these processors?

Any more input on the models discussed (OD Compaq, BB Acer, BB Gateway)? My wife's laptop is pretty much dead, and she's looking for a replacement.

We just got back from breakfast and OD. I didn't buy a laptop because I don't need one but it was tempting.

The guy said OD corporate just sent an e-mail indicating these are selling out fast. They might be OOS by Tuesday.

I have a surprise for everyone, if I can get my scanner to work.

Smaller screen 15.4" vs. 14.1" Gateway. Slower HD on the Gateway as well. However, smaller screen means that Gateway laptop will be lighter (5.2 vs. 6.x lbs). I haven't follow the laptop for while but generally Intel CPU & board have longer battery life than AMD. Please read through the specs so you can make an informed purchase.

Great! Thanks for checking it out Rossman.

heres the V6000T at HPs website

FYI, those are all the available options, and the prices only differ by a few bucks on a couple of the options. At HPs site, if you configure it the way its defaulted at OD, its $911 :Q

I just got back as well, and have one on order 🙂 This is going to beat the pants off my inspiron 1000

Thanks to RossMAN and allisolm!

I have to get out of hot deals and FS/T fast though before i go broke!

Just got back from OD (5 PM PST) - the man who helped me checked online, and couldn't find the laptop. Said it was probably just a one-day thing, or some other excuse, and that they might offer some other comparable substitution deal Monday or Tuesday. Also told me S+H was 69.99. Or it could've been an incompetent location.

My OD had to enter a product code from the ad, I think the person who helped you had no clue what they were doing 🙁

If you go back, look up the ad for the store online before you go and print out the first page. That's where it is.

He had it right in front of him, typed the configuration code three times into the system, every time returned with an 'unknown configuration error'. I might try calling up a different branch to check today, on the chance this was just an inept employee. 🙁

Sorry, I just saw you're from the Wash DC area. I'm in Florida and will try later today and report my success or failure.

I stopped by the local OD earlier tonight and used the kios to set up one laptop. It stated the code is no longer valid.

Look like the deal is dead.
