im running dual AMD xp 1.8s with a tyan motherbaord 1.5 gigs of ddr ECC ram, 2 60 gig hard drives 45o watt PSU 2 CD drives one dvd burner one dvd / cd burner. on Windows XP pro service pack 2 - all updates recent as of 2-20-05
recently i started up and after windows loaded the screen went black, stayed bacl for abnotu 2 min, then went to welcome screem, stayed at the welcome screen for another minute and then loaded my desktop. i looked into the event viewer and the first thing that cuaght my eye was that the sytem could not load hte avid startup, so i disabled that and uninstalled the program AVID, then i restarted, and same thing. so i looked at event viewer again and here is the only thing that seemed funky:
The IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service service entered the stopped state.
The Pml Driver HPH11 service entered the stopped state.
i dont know what that means? but i think that is what is holding up my system startup. the last thing i did on my computer was use the dvd burner to back up all my software and MP3s, I removed avid but that is the only change i have made in months.
