Why does everybody think a 300 dollar 7900GT will have 24 dedicated Pixel pipelines? Did I miss something? Stop feeding people speculation.

I think so far the rumor is that the 7900GT will have 24 pixel pipelines, which doesn't make sense to me because the rumor also states that the 7900GTX will also have 24 pixel pipelines. But the 7900GTX will be 512MB, while the 7900GT will only be 256MB.

Don't hurt me, these are just the rumors flying all over the place as of this moment.

Best advice so far. We all had to do it eventually.

It sucks, but the industry doesnt care much for AGP anymore. You could get the AGP 7800 but only if you know for a fact you dont want to upgrade ANYTHING in your system for a long time. Get it and hold on for a while, or else its a waste of money.

I decided to not do that and moved into the next gen completely.
I got a 939 motherboard, a 939 CPU and a PCIe video card all at once. Cost me a lot but it was worth it. I now have some staying power.
Purchased the absolute cheapest 939 CPU I could find, and I'll make one more purchase in the hi-end dual core line when I feel the need for speed. Then its on to the next socket type. But that wont be for a while and I will have plenty of good times with my current setup.
