Yea it's ages away, it's in the south east - within walking distance of me actually. Closest tube would be North Greenwich then a 486 bus.

I'd just be there to watch football. I'd root for either team unless I was seated in the middle of a pack of rabid dogs rooting for one side...

Ah, I see you're from the US of A. You been to an English football game before? Everyone is rooting for one side or the other, they separate the fans to avoid violence (somewhat unsuccessfully), so you kind of have to choose a side.

I haven't been to a game since my dad took me to my first game in 1978. We moved to the states shortly thereafter.

You should go while you're here then - any reason you picked Charlton? Is it your dad's team or something? We're playing Liverpool next Saturday, that'll be good.

I only have tonight and it is one of two EPL games... Tottenham / Middlesborough is out.

I am actually in Reading atm and would love to go across the street, but they don't play until tomorrow and its AT Newcastle.

Hmmm, gutted...

You could still do Charlton, it would take like 1 to 1 1/2 hours from Hammersmith probably. Not sure how long from Reading.

Well, I get a ride back to Hammersmith at 6:30, so I don't have time to get over to Charlton before game time.

Know any D1/2/3 teams in West London?

Dude, you should go. Even if soccer sucks ;) a huge event like that would be much cooler than a night in the pub.

I would, but we have established that Charlton is too much of a pain to get to by game time... :(

Millwall and Leyton Orient are in London, but both in the east, and I've never been to either. Some of the L2 teams are in London too but you're getting into pretty small teams now. Tuesday is not the day for football.

You probably don't want to go to Millwall BTW... they have a bit of a reputation. Their supporters club stayed at a hotel near my house once and I swear there were more riot police than Millwall supporters. One asked me if I could fight, and if so, would I like some tickets to a game...

Just watch it at the pub man. If it's not on locally take a tube into the center and find something with big screens.
