Fog like a pea soup. At last we have arrived. The sounds of the departing carriagees disappear around the corner. Upon entering the quite anonymous, but well built, and beautifully illuminated four story victorian house, we are greeted by the head butler:

Gentle, Sirs, may I offer some Darjeeling? Or do you prefer Oolong? I have also some tea grown on private plantation high on the slopes of the Himalayas ...

The coffee served is also quite acceptable, the new barrista will look after your coffee most excellently.

The bar is also well stocked - a glas of Llagavullin, parhaps? We do have some excellent port - it is 62 years old and has matured superbly, if I may suggest. The dry sherry is also acceptable, unfortunately, the wine merchant has only obtained two cases ... I am sorry.

The cook has made som really nice sandwiches - and the Lord Sandwich is sitting in the library. Which, if I may point it out, has had some improvements, I must say ...

The computer park has beeen renewed, and only the dual AMD 64 has survived the purge of the old crunchers - there are only the latest and high end calculating machines - some 32 of them, each in its own airconditioned booth ... Please take a look.

Oh, by the way, the nine course dinner will be served in the hall at 8 o'clock pm; and I have organized some very nice entertainment - the royal dancing company with some really accomplished musicians will be able to cater for any taste of music.

Please , gentle Sirs, be welcome to our TeAm Anandtech Gentlemen's Club! Here is your pin, it will help you to anything you may need. I'll make very sure that the staff - 4 butlers and 21 maids of excellent extraction - will be happy to serve you and all your friends.

We hang out coats to dry in the cloakroom, look inte our private rooms and assamble in the club rool before a roaring fire ...

Lord Smoke lights a cigarr, clears his throat and ...

Edit: abysmal spelling (whew)! :(

I wonder if a "Gentleman's Club" in London is the same as a "Gentleman's Club" in the US? :p I can't see my boss going for a Gentleman's Club room at work! :D

ehum,

The BOSS is in a very happy and prosperous mood this morning as he reviewed the most recent P&L.

He said to me, "Smoke, your TeAm has had some really great numbers lately. I am most pleased. See if you can come up with an idea to give them a nice reward."

I responded, "hmmm, I'll put my most imaginative cruncher, petrusbroder, on this. He's most creative ... I'm sure he'll think of something." ;) :)

he, he, he

/smoke lights up his ARTURO FUENTE/

:D

Well, I am quite happy that the team ... hmmm ... club members did not comment on the terrible spelling (which is now changed - at least most of it ...)

BTW - this is - if I count correctly - my 502nd post at this forum - and there will be more:

1. the mods @ TAS are planning some great stuff for TAS, ;)
2. there will be some fun stuff at TAS - www.teamanandtech.net - in a few days or so, :p
3. some - or quite a few - of you will get personal invitations to come and visit so do not plan too much for the next week - @ TAS. :D

/anticipations are mounting - more will follow - sooner rather than later/

Well, if I had attended the "terrible" swedish schools (you don't get any grades until after going to school for 8 years) that would have been a natural explanation. :D However, the real explanation is that I have a severe dyslexia, which is very visible when tired or excited or just fed up (= lack of concentration). So no excuse there! ;)

OTOH: which gentleman bothers with spelling? That is not necessary! Of course I do normally have a secretary: a woman in her best years, college educated, speaks fluently 6 languages, is quiet, skillfull, has an enormous knowledge of the whole social scene and a sense of order. Pitty she is off duty now and calling upon her ailing mother ...

Why not order your coffee exactly as you want it? That's what the barrista is good for ... a mocha, cappucino, espresso, latte, plain, jamaican, caribic, arabic, indian, brazilian, you want it, he gets it! :D

Enjoy!

TGIF!

Bump! When is the QE coming in with all the mates?
The Concorde has stopped - but we may be able to scare up one after all. :)
