What an largely absurd thread, as the outcome was, Aung San Suu Kyi’s Party Wins the elections in Myanmar. Something that the current leaders Myanmar also concede and endorse. The former leadership of Myanmar may have been total rat finks, but the new leadership of Myanmar wants to discard their former ways, and in so doing, get off the international probation that their former miserable human rights record caused. Push pull, why should I give a shit if China joined other nations in sending in election monitors. Maybe we might have some grounds if Chinese election monitors become the lone ranger nation in calling the Myanmar elections a fraud, but there is no evidence of that at this point. And maybe just maybe the Myanmar elections may become a blueprint for future Chinese elections.

Ridiculous. This seems like a growing problem for democracy world wide where authoritarian regime act like they have as much moral authority as democracies do. Sometimes they're helped by critics in the West, who act like riots in London are equivalent to upheavals in Syria.

What an largely absurd thread.

No surprise coming from a fan of equivalency like you.

bah...you people naively think Myanmar really want anyone with experience in democracy to watch over their election.....

China is one of Myanmar's biggest backer. They know China will back them, they need China to stand for them when they claim they have an unbiased election. That's just politics as usual.

Now don't tell me you don't think politicians in the West play games too......
