hey i got linux installed...lol....and i even got my video card recognized....uh but that was it...lol
so now i can see all the icons but have none of the functionality of a the rest of my computer...hehehehe...hey and the manual...says "we couldnt possible go into that much detail in his book..."
refering to getting the hardware configured...and it 650 pages long!!!!!!!...hehehehehehehe
whooooohoooo...well i am gonna need glasses buy the time i get this worked out..and a really good hair cut...LOL

Well, could you post some more info (all of your hardware and linux distro/version)? Maybe some people here could help you with that (since some of us are familiar with some of those 600 pages)
 
Yes, Linux IS more difficult to configure, but it is worth it when you get there. The problem is, when you DO get there the first time, you will realize that there are a LOT of things you should have done differently (Just because of the learning process). You will probably want to rebuild using all the new stuff you have learned 🙂

i thinnk it see's stuff like when it is booting and schrolling but it has l/0 errors when i try to mount a device...was jsut trying to get a cd to play...i mean it recognized it to load itself on to my computer cant it paly a song now...lol

one question i do have that someone can proly answer...is the diamond supra 56k a winmodem?...if so it wont work ever with linux so i have to get another?...i am too confused even to ask for help...i am jsut bitchin...lemme read up and see what the F i am doing and once i get a better clue i will post something relavant...lol
i am gonna learn it though even if it kills me

download...lol...there are 7 cd's and a dvd in 7.1 pro...plus that lil phonebook of info and two short stories...lol...but if i see a link i'll let ya know...its getting better...was tired and just flustered but i have figured some stuff out.
can use my cdrom now and have sound but for some reason i cant get the cdrw to put sound out...its set to master and a sony cdrom to slave...if i set the sony to master and disconnect the hp cdrw tehn i can get the sound to work but it wont with the hp...not sure why that would be....any clue?
