My uncle has that phone (Cingular), but he didn't pay THAT much. I think he prob payed like $800.

Does he like it? I was going to purchase it, but not having owned a symbian uiq yet, I thought it best to go with the cheaper P800 just to see if it's all it's cracked up to be. Then again, I'm a mobile nut and shoild be receiving my 'very much unknown here in the states' Motorola A920 shortly.

Yeah, he likes it (but to me it seems bulky, and that the screen can get dirty quickly when you hold it up to your face to talk on it. Plus the buttons are small and thin). It plays nice ringtones tthough. He does change his phones about every 4-6 months; he's one of those types that likes to have the latest and greatest (plus my unlce has cash to spend).
