According to whom? The Android phones flying off the shelves are the Droid, Droid Incredible, Evo, etc. Ya know, the high end devices. There are indeed low end Android devices that fill out the market, but that's not where the majority of them are. Also, while yea, Verizon runs BOGOs on Droid (and all their smartphones), that doesn't mean people are only buying them because they're cheap. If that were the case, they'd be buying the Droid Eris in droves instead.

Not a single Android phone sells anywhere close to the iPhone. The original Droid is the top selling Android device, but it's not even close to the 3GS in sales. EVO sales are going to be heartbreaking. AFAIK, the N1 never even broke 200k. The other top Android phones are cheapos like the Magic, Dream, and Eris.

Oh, and FYI - just because Apple ran the "there's an app for that" campaign doesn't mean that no one has used it about Android phones. When that campaign started, the App Store wasn't that much bigger than the Android Market is now.

I think the Android tagline is, "There might be a port for that" :awe:

One more thing, Gizmodo ran a story this morning that said something like 81% of apps downloaded off the app store are free, and the average price for the remaining 19% is only $1.49. So while people might like their apps on iOS, its not like everything downloaded is a $20 premium app.

I don't understand the relevance.

Nowhere did I say any individual Android phones sold as much as the iPhone - I said the top selling phones are the high end phones. And you do realize those numbers are from April, right? I said the top selling phones (ya know, today, not months ago) are the Incredible, Evo, and Droid. There was no Evo or Incredible then, of course they aren't on there, which makes your rebuttal entirely irrelevant. No, the Nexus One never did well, but that's not really the phone's fault. That was Google's failed website-only sales plan.

Again, keep hailing from the past, just because an app started on iOS and got ported has absolutely no relevance as to whether or not its there today. If its on Android, then Android users have it.

As to my last point - you and the previous poster were spouting off about Apple being a "premium" experience, and about apps, and about how much more Apple will make, etc etc. You yourself have spouted off about how much more willing Apple owners are to pay for apps. I was countering that logic.

Anyway, I am not interested in one of your mindless flame wars, despite the fact that you've been trying to pick one with everyone the last few days. I made a point, you are spouting your usual nonsense in reply, so its not worth my time responding any more, or anyone else's time reading said responses. Ta ta.

If you think the Incredible or EVO are outselling the Magic, Eris, or Dream you are out of your mind. The Incredible hit shortages out of the gate and now that the Droid X was announced I think sales will cool, though it will ultimately go on to be the successor to the original Droid, long-term. EVO is just a bust. We would have heard from Sprint if it did any respectable numbers (1M+). All we know is that the debuted better than the Pre (lol).

In most cases in inferior form. You cannot deny that.

I don't know who the previous poster was, my point was that iOS has a healthy ecosystem which equals sustained developer support.

Part of the beauty of Android is the diversity of devices. What matters to Google and developers is the combined market share of Android ecosystem vs iOS ecosystem.

Who's flaming? I have a sound argument backed with factual evidence. I am not flaming, or trying to incite anyone. I am just telling it like it is. If you don't like what you're hearing, sucks for you.

Evo is a bust? Tell that to every sprint store in my area as well as the website that are completely sold out since launch.

Saw this on Engadget SuperAMOLED vs Android display comparo.
Looks like iPhone can only render 2/3rds of the page that Samsung can :D
