Well, after the Passat W8 disaster and the decision to fight BMW and Mercedes at their own game with the Phaeton, I about fell off the throne this morning when I was reading my latest issue of Esquire magazine:

A8's 330hp V8 vs. VW's 420hp W12?? Plus the Phaeton has way more standard features...the Audi jumps $5000 in price just by adding bigger wheels, sunroof and rear climate control.

Besides, that was some uber rich fantasy scenario where I can keep my Benz and Bentley AND a car that appeals to my inner hippie...or something...

Lemme see the new S8 and maybe THEN I'll upgrade...
